Director of Data Partnerships

What you’ll do:

The successful candidate will be able to identify and build relationships with partners in the financial industry, promoting Fable’s benefits for those partners, while navigating both the complexities of their businesses and commercial negotiations.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Data Partner acquisition strategy: planning and delivering against key strategic outcomes 

  • Identification and lead generation of prospective data partners and new datasets 

  • Commercial negotiations 

  • Ongoing partner relationship management 

  • Team management: our people are our best asset, as a manager you will be responsible for developing and enabling your small team to fulfil their, and Fable’s, ambitions 



  • The role would suit an individual with a wealth of commercial negotiation and relationship management experience, in complex technical or regulated environments 

  • Confident navigating the end-to-end partnership process with senior stakeholders at both complex large banking institutions and fintech start-ups 

  • Able to speak fluently about big data products and processing  

  • An entrepreneurial spirit is needed to identify opportunities and new potential datasets, combined with patience as the process can take a long time 

  • A firm grasp of the data partner commercials and economics  

  • Strong managerial skills, as you will be responsible for leading and developing a small team, which we expect to grow in line with our dataset 


Skills / knowledge: 

  • Strong commercial outlook – understanding business objectives, dynamics, and pressures 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with both internal and external stakeholders 

  • Can build long term strategic and commercial partnerships 

  • Comfortable with uncertainty and change – we are a scale up 

  • Creative strategist and problem solver 

  • Able to organise and manage multiple workstreams 

  • Fluent in English (others, in particular any major European languages and Japanese, are welcomed given the international nature of our data partners).
