What you’ll do:


Fast-growing, ambitious technology and financial data company, Fable Data, is seeking an experienced Data Operations Director to manage the end-to-end data process from technical design through to implementation, being responsible for our data’s journey from ingestion through to delivery to clients.

The successful candidate will provide technical planning and manage data and user-interface product releases. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, with a team of talented and passionate individuals. The role will be performed remotely until we are able to return to a London office. Our flexible working policy supports our team, whether working remotely or from the office.


What you’re responsible for:


  • Being an integral member of the Data Leadership Team, owning the end to end Client deliverables

  • Leading team of technical professionals to deliver a world class service to Clients as defined by SLA’s, everyday

  • Designing and implementing the technical architecture, ensuring systems are scalable, efficient, secure, future proofed and continually evolve to incorporate best practices

  • Lead the delivery of new product releases into the production environment on time and to budget

  • Build efficient processes with product development team to ensure suitable code controls in the production environment and adherence to the delivery schedules

  • Proactively identify system risks / weaknesses which may compromise the quality of our Service and / or data security

  • Lead the data audit and ensure compliance with all regulatory and contractual commitments

  • Establish a technical Client helpdesk, providing second line support and agree escalation procedures for third line support



Your Ownership areas:


  • Deliver for Clients everyday and efficiently ingest new product and feature releases into the production environment

  • Own design of the technical infrastructure and data process end to end

  • Own technical design of code modules. Ensuring we write extensible and reusable code



Skills you'll have:


  • A natural communicator who engages technical teams to do great work and can simply communicate technical details to a non technical audience

  • A technical expert in building scalable, secure and efficient systems, well versed in leading technical colleagues who have coding skills that you may not possess

  • Well organised, comfortable working on multiple projects with a strong focus on delivering on time and to budget

  • The ability to bring structure to a start up environment with the resilience, EQ and maturity to deal with ambiguity and less developed processes / systems.

  • Be forward thinking. Have an eye for detail and proactively identify areas of improvement / risk and develop plans to continuously improve.



Who you are:


An ideal candidate will have been grounded with a strong technical architecture background and developed broad experience in dev ops, data science, data engineering, data security and software development. You will have leadership, planning and project management skills to complement their technical knowledge. We use Python, C#, SQL, Azure and Jira. We do not expect applicants to tick every box. We are looking for someone who can build a great team spirit, make our daily processes run like clockwork and can drive automating and manage release cycles for data and software.

Salary: Circa £100,000p.a (DOE)
