This week in Fable Data (16th – 22nd March 2020)
Until this week, 2020, YTD UK total spending had remained slightly ahead of 2018 and 2019 trends, not yet showing the steep decline seen in the German data from 6th March. However, our data over the last seven days showed a fall in overall spend. Beneath this aggregate fall, there is a mixture of performance amongst our 75 sector classification groups.
Sectors providing essential services such as Grocery, and Pharmacies are experiencing higher demand (ranging from +26-64% YoY). On the other hand, those hardest hit are Food & Beverage, Passenger Railways and Taxis (ranging from -28%-78% YoY).
